Introduction to Etching with Aquatint

Introduction to Etching with Aquatint

Aquatint is one of the most effective ways to put a tonal value onto an etching plate, this can be done on copper, steel and zinc.  There are primarily three ways to use aquatint.
1: Stop out reduction process.
2: Sugar lift
3: Spit bite

In an induction course we would normally go through 1 of these processes’ possibly 2, depending on what the artwork is you are making.
