Lucie Green’s Legacy

“Lucie Green was a passionate and innovative printmaker with a love for colour and experimentation using day to day subjects that caught her eye at home or on her travels with her family.  After Lucie passed away her precious body of art work, ranging from her student days through to her latest print pieces, has been stored carefully at her studio but hadn’t been systematically organised.
David Borrington knew Lucie as a colleague and worked with us as a family to professionally photograph and archive the complete body of work which comprised of oils, watercolours and prints. David was able to advise on how to go about the whole process and source museum standard archive boxes and the top quality hard drives.  He also provided colour correction and the appropriate file resolution for different applications including printed cardsWe now have collated hard copy and safely stored soft copy of all the art.
As a family we are immensely grateful to David for his time and patience in undertaking this project with us.”

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can you photograph just one artwork, or should I bring multiple artworks?

Certainly! It’s a flat rate of £50, covering multiple file types.

Is there a size limit for the artwork?

Our flat rate is £50, covering up to 30” x 42”. For larger artwork, please contact us for customized pricing; we’re flexible to accommodate your needs.

What's the image quality, and what file types will we receive?

We use a Nikon Z7 45MP sensor and provide three file types of your choice, including raw if needed, ensuring the highest image quality for everyone.

What is the process for delivering artwork to be photographed by you?

You have several options available. You can either send the artwork to us by post, personally drop off the artwork via appointment, or we can coordinate a cost-effective collection service for your convenience.

Who can apply for Artist-Legacy – 25 package.

We’ve designed this service with deep sensitivity to protect the legacy of artists who may have sadly passed away or are currently facing life-shortening illnesses. Our aim is to support artists and their families during these challenging times by ensuring the safe preservation of their life’s work. With our service, they can have peace of mind, knowing their artwork is securely preserved for the future. We extend this assistance to all, offering a warm and inclusive environment for everyone.

Who is a Viewing-Room for?

The Viewing-Room is dedicated to showcasing artwork from open access Artists, associate Artists, and legacy Artists. All of the artwork displayed has been photographed at Dekkle’s photographic studio.

If you're not an Artist, legacy Artist, or a studio member, can you still apply for the Viewing-Room?

Absolutely! If you have more than 15 artworks photographed by Dekkle, you can apply for the Viewing-Room, and you will automatically receive a complimentary Viewing-Room portfolio page.

Is there a monthly or yearly subscription fee for the Viewing-Room portfolio?

There is no subscription fee for the Viewing-Room portfolio. Originally designed for artist legacies, we understand the sensitivity of canceling an Artist Legacy portfolio if a family member chooses not to pay the subscription. The only charge is for photographing each artwork, and this is at fairly standard professional rates.

Can you provide custom websites for artists and legacy artists?

Of course! We provide personalized websites for artists and legacy artists, offering a platform to showcase their work, share their artistic journey, and engage with their audience. Whether you’re an emerging artist seeking an online presence or a legacy artist preserving your artistic legacy, we’re here to help.

What occurs if Dekkle ceases trading with legacy artists and the Viewing-Room?

While we are confident in our ability to continue operating smoothly for the next two decades, we have developed a comprehensive strategy to address any potential disruptions. In our plan, we outline the eventual transition of the Viewing-Room to a Dekkle trust as it reaches a suitable scale. This strategic move is designed to ensure the long-term protection of everyone’s artwork, including that of David Borrington, who also serves as one of our directors. By doing so, we are committed to upholding the legacy of artists and directors alike, securing a thriving artistic community for the future.

Is there a defined geographical area or jurisdiction that applies to the Artist-Legacy service for artists?

Because this service is sensitive in nature, we prefer to arrange in-person meetings for a thorough understanding of your needs. All artwork is photographed in our studio, with the primary limitation being logistics and associated costs as you move farther from our studio. For in-person consultations beyond 50 miles from the studio, we charge per mile. However, if you prefer, we can also discuss your requirements over phone or video chat. For international clients, we can arrange local photography services, with pricing dependent on your region. Please reach out to us if you’re interested, as we can tailor solutions to your specific needs, taking into account the various variables involved.
